Velo Vitality

For those of you who have not heard of Bobbin Bikes, they are a specialist bicycle company who produces affordable, reliable town bikes with a focus on classic styling and a comfortable riding position. 2013 is going to be a good year, with 3 new models being added to their range. I want to focus on these models first -

Bobbin Scout

The Scout is a vintage-style audax bike for lovers of retro racing bikes. Audax bikes are designed for distance cycling within a per-defined time limit. How that basically translates to the Scout is that it has a relaxed geometry and comes with mudguards and rack eyelets. A Dia-Compe stem and 16 speed Sunrace gears keep everything in check during those summer day rides. We love it. Remember that old Raleigh you loved as a kid, now you can rekindle that love with a Bobbin Scout.

Bobbin Hummingbird and Bobbin Kingfisher

These are the new reliable his (Kingfisher) and her (Hummingbird) 8 speed commuters from Bobbin. Both models are a beautiful forest green colour, and are equipped with contrasting cream tyres. The gears are operated with a simple thumb shifter on the handlebars, using a Shimano Alivio rear derailleur. You get full length metal mudguards, a slim profile pannier rack, Sturmey Archer crank set and a kick stand. If lycra and a bad back is something you want to avoid on your daily commute, this could be the bike for you. All in for only £475!
