New Compass tyres complete the range!
Last week we received a delivery of the new Compass tyres and they have been gaining a lot of interest. The new sizes fill the gaps in the range and this means, you should be able to find a tyre to suit your requirements. All tyres are made by Panarcer in Japan, and offer many advantages over its competition. The most notable sizes being 700x35c and the 650bx48.
It fits bikes that have extra clearance around the Stampede Pass (32 mm), but not enough space for a Barlow Pass (38mm).
On pavement, the Bon Jon Pass will outcorner narrower tires thanks to its greater width and its lower pressure, both of which keep more rubber in contact with the road surface. The Bon Jon Pass will glide over chipseal where narrower or less supple tires will chatter. If your bike can fit this tire, you won’t be disappointed.
Switchback Hill is the first and only named climb on the 360 mile Oregon Outback gravel ride/race. The gravel is quite loose in places, and the extra floatation of the Switchback Hill tires gives you more speed and security when the going gets really rough.
30% of the Oregon Outback is on pavement, so we designed this tire to roll as fast and grip as well as a good racing tire. With this tire, you truly have the best of both worlds.
The Switchback Hill also can transform the performance of your 27.5″ mountain bike on gravel or paved roads.
The Rat Trap Pass (26″ x 54mm) is the ultimate expression of our new Enduro Allroad tires. With its 54 mm width, it is incredibly plush, yet thanks to the smaller 26″ wheel size, it handles like a good road tire.
Whether you use this tire on a brand-new Enduro Allroad Bike or upgrade your existing 26″ tandem, touring bike or mountain bike, it will be hard to go back to lesser tires once you have tried them.
The Elk Pass 26″ x 1.25″ tires (32 mm-wide) are superlight tires for bikes with 26″ wheels. If you are looking for the fastest, lightest 26″ tire ever made, this probably is it. Not only does it weigh just 178 g, but it uses the Compass Extralight casing and our ultra-sticky tread rubber for the ultimate in suppleness and cornering grip. Thanks to its ultralight weight and small volume, it also is a great spare tire for emergencies for those traveling off the beaten path with 26″ wheels.
Also, we have picked up a few of these non-PT Panaracer Pasela tyres. Only available with a tan wall and in 700x32c. Usual Panaracer quality. Nice amount of grip and comfort, would be a great option for something like an old Dawes Galaxy. A great budget option at only £15.
