Reid Vintage Deluxe - Review
We've just received our first delivery of the Reid Bikes from Australia and I have had a chance to test ride the Vintage Deluxe. My first impressions of the bike have been excellent!
The contact points of the bike (saddle, grips, gear shifter and pedals) all gave a pleasant and enjoyable ride. The saddle felt really comfortable and I especially liked the ergonomic grips, which noticeably supported my wrists and palms of my hands and therefore gave me better control of the steering of the bike.
The Nexus gear shifter is very smooth and easy to use. I thought that having 3 gears was perfect for the bike, keeping it simple, with the easy gear for hills, the medium gear and then a harder gear for going faster. There is a big difference between each of the gears, so having 3 gears does not feel restricting. I have a lot of confidence in the Shimano 3 speed Gears, as I have one on my own bike and have found them to be excellent.
The alloy frame keeps the weight of the bike down and I found the upright riding position very comfortable.
I would definitely suggest this bike for anyone looking for a low maintenance, easy to use, comfortable bike.
